Paul Bartholomew

Paul Bartholomew (M.Mus) describes his musical interests as “too wide for his own safety” –from Beethoven and John Cage to Abdullah Ibrahim and Charlie Mingus -and has performed with artists including Sting, BB King, Barry White, Eric Clapton, Dr.John, Kylie Minogue, Lemmy (of Motorhead fame) and Tom Jones.
As an MD he has worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Terry Riley, numerous choirs and big bands and for ten years toured with Jools Holland as Baritone Sax player and arranger.
He has composed for film, TV and contemporary dance, has performed on and worked as an arranger for all the Major TV channels.
He has taught at every level from beginner's workshops to post-graduate composition at Universities and Conservatoires. Aside from freelance work he teaches Arranging and Musical Direction and on the Professional Skills Programme at Trinity College Of Music. |

Prudence Mampe

Originally from Kimberly in the Northern Cape, Prudence Mampe was the recipient of the Prestigious Best Soloist award in the Shell Road to Fame competition.
She has worked in African Traditional Music, with Xhosa artist Ringo Madlingozi, with The Queen Of South African Gospel Rebecca Malope and South African Popular Music with Diva Sibongile Khumalo.
She is regular member of Pinese Saul's South African Gospel Singers, and has appeared many times in Julia Mathunjwa's Shikisha.
She is a skilled workshop leader in voice and dance and in 2003 was the figurehead for over 40 workshops with Mbawula, inspiring singers of all cultures and backgrounds from the ages of seven to seventy-five to sing in three different African Languages with the ensemble at venues throughout the UK.
In 2004 her vocal group the Township Sisters have appeared with Claude Deppa and Lucky Ranku, opened the celebrations at the Old Vic recently for a ground-breaking South African play and were featured at the Marlborough Jazz Festival and on BBC Wiltshire live. |

Busi Gumede

From Kwamashu in Durban, South Africa, Busi formed the Stax Musi Singers in 1986 at the age of 13, together with two friends and performed in Township Halls, Schools and local concerts in Durban . In 1988 she performed with the Sarafina Theatre as a dancer and toured Germany, France, The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Japan and America.
In 1990/1 as a dancer in Township Fever and Magic at 4am she performed in South Africa, Germany and The Netherlands. In 1994 she performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival with Mango Groove.
Since then she has toured with Ipi Tombi, and performed with many artists including Randy Crawford, Keiphus Simenya, Pinese saul's South African Gospel Choir, Claude Deppa, Lucky Ranku and Sonti Mndebele. |

Kari Bannerman

Kari Bannerman, Ghana's most renowned and versatile guitarist has over 20 years experience playing popular African music. He began his professional career in the mid seventies in Ghana , founding BOOMBAYA and within a year won the ‘Band of the Year' award.
Kari then took his talents to Osibisi, who repeatedly topped the album charts in four continents. Kari toured the world with Osibisi, recorded several albums with them and was awarded a gold disc for the 1982 tour of India.
Kari has since become the sought after guitarist in Britain for both live and studio work. His list of international credits includes Hugh Masekela, Alexander O'Neal, Ronnie Laws, Sister Sledge, Carol Grimes, Claude Deppa, Billy Cobham and Finlay Quaye. |

Dudley Philips

A self taught musician who went on to win a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music, Dudley has toured and recorded with artists as diverse as Bill Withers and Billy Cobham. He is a founder member/composer of acclaimed contemporary jazz group ‘Perfect Houseplants'. Many school projects have been tied in to Houseplants concerts and in addition he also works with the ‘Impro' music group, doing outreach work in schools with pupils of all abilities. |

Helder Pack

Born In Mozambique and having spent his teenage years in Portugal, Helder is a master of both South African and Latin Rhythms. In London he has worked with Antonio Forcione, Mervyn Africa, Monica Vasconcelos' Nois and Shikisha. |

Nic France

Nic moved to London in 1980 and began working as a session musician principally with jazz musicians, including Ian Carr's Nucleus, Ronnie Scott, Kenny Wheeler, Loose Tubes, Martin Taylor and he appeared on a TV drum clinic with Billy Cobham.
Moving in to the Rock and Pop World he toured and recorded with such artists as Bill Withers, Tanita Tikaram, Working Week, Pete Townsend, Thomas Dolby, and more recently with Annie Lennox and Nigel Kennedy.
He has appeared at major venues worldwide including The Royal Albert Hall, Montreux, Nice, Detroit , Singapore and Bombay Jazz Festivals, and Glastonbury and Knebworth Rock Festivals. He can be heard on various Film and TV soundtracks, and currently works with Andy Sheppard's Quartet and alongside David Gilmore on his most recent project of which there is a DVD ‘David Gilmore Live'.
